Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)

» Qualifications
• ages 18 and 45
• have recurrent BV (bacterial vaginosis)
• 2 episodes in the past 12 months
• are currently experiencing an episode

» Summary
Eligible candidates will be compensated for their time and travel.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)-Diarrhea

» Qualifications
• ages 18-79
• moderate to severe abdominal pain
• at least 28 stools over a 7 day period

» Summary
Participants receive study related care, diagnostic tests, and study medication at no cost.
Payment for time and travel will be provided.

Type 2 Oral Diabetes Medication

» Qualifications
• ages 18-80
• taking metformin alone or in combination with one other oral diabetic medication , not a thiazolidinedione (TZD)
• A1C between 7% and 9.5%

» Inclusion Criteria:
No other major health issues

» Summary
A 2 year clinical trial evaluating an investigational type 2 oral diabetes medication compared to a marketed diabetes medication.

Postherpetic Neuralgia

» Qualifications
• ages 18-80
• must have persistent pain of 6 months after shingles outbreak
• must have moderate to severe pain at previous shingles site
• must not have other major medical condition

» Exclusion Criteria:
• must not have diabetes, Type I or II
• must not have active major depression or generalized anxiety disorder

» Summary
A multicenter placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy of study drug in subjects with Postherpetic Neuralgia (persistent pain after shingles outbreak), followed by a double-blind extension and open-label study.
